The 135m MS River Diamond was built in 2007, refurbished in 2018, and offers many unique innovations. Whether you would like to relax on the sun deck or stay active in the gym, feel free to explore the many possibilities on board the spacious three-deck ship.
This cruise is not exclusive to Teeming River Cruises. Teeming River Cruises is partnering with Starling Fleet, owned by United Rivers, one of the largest ship owners in Europe. The cruise will be booked with Cruise Commerce, the booking logistical subsidiary of United Rivers, as our provider, and Teeming River Cruises will assist in setting up your cruise details.

You’ll board our ship at 6 p.m. After comfortably settling into your cabins, we’ll introduce our crew at a welcome cocktail. Enjoy a free evening to explore the city on your own.
Port/Lock: Viking 2
Join us on an excursion: Impressive Heidelberg Castle – Bus & Walking Tour
Duration: Approx. 4,5 hours

From Speyer, we travel by coach to Heidelberg; the oldest and most famous university town of Germany. Heidelberg is also one of the country’s most endearing small cities, famous for its historical baroque center, spirited student atmosphere, beautiful riverside setting, and ancient bridge crossing the Neckar River. By visiting this impressive town, you follow in the footsteps of the late 18th and early 19th century romantics, most notably the poet, Goethe. Partake in a guided tour, with the first stop being the impressive hilltop castle, set in a stunning location overlooking the main square and Rhine Valley. This castle is a combination of several buildings surrounding an inner courtyard; each building highlighting a different period of German architecture. In the castle’s wine cellar, don’t miss the biggest wine barrel in the world, which holds over 220.000 liters of wine! After the castle tour, explore the romantic town center before rejoining the ship in Mannheim.

Experience the Alsatian lifestyle with an international flair in Strasbourg! Get to know this charismatic city with its typical German and French influences on a local city tour. From the ship, a transfer will take you to the city center from where the picturesque old town awaits to be explored. Now a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site, Strasbourg is best enjoyed by boat cruise, offering unique views of the half-timbered houses in ‘Petite France’ and the impressive European Institutions. With its mesmerizing Gothic Cathedral, many cafés, antique stores, boutiques, and typical Alsatian architecture, Strasbourg is definitely a highlight worth further discovering on foot! Enjoy some free time in the city before returning to the ship by bus.

Morning excursion:
Wine Town Rüdesheim – Mini Train Through Vineyards & Wine Tasting
Duration: Approx. 2 hours

Vineyards and wine, what a delightful way to start the day! Departing directly from the ship, the vineyard-express mini-train meanders through the idyllic vineyards directly into the heart of this charming little town. From here we will go to a local winery for a delicious wine tasting. Afterward, the vineyard express will bring you back to the ship.
Late afternoon excursion:
Two Rivers City Koblenz – Walking Tour
Duration: Approx. 1,5 hours
Time: 16:45 – 18:15h

Experience one of the most beautiful towns in Germany with more than 2000 years of history, on a guided walking tour. The great strategic location, at the confluence of the Rhine and Mosel rivers, was the reason the Romans called the city Confluentes, which changed to the more German spelling of Koblenz in 1926. The romantic streets of Koblenz show a variety of famous stories shaped around many local traditions and sits. Enjoy highlights such as the Church of Our Lady and the St. Castor Basilica. Discover the picturesque squares and the impressive monument of Emperor Wilhelm I at the German Corner. From here, on the rocky cliff high above the confluence of the two rivers, radiates a magical attraction, known as Fortress Ehrenbreitstein which is accessible with a cable car.

Optional morning excursion – Walking tour of Majestic Cologne.

Although modern in feel, Cologne also conceals over 2000 years of history within its foundations, dating back as early as Roman times. Roman ruins are scattered throughout the city and include the famous Roman gate which once made up part of the medieval town walls. Your guide will also highlight the various cultural and historical sites of Cologne, including the St. Martins Church and Historical Town Hall. The tour will finish at the impressive Dom Cathedral, which is the largest Gothic Cathedral in northern Europe. The rest of the morning is yours to spend at leisure and to gradually make your way back to the ship.

We’ll cruise to Arnhem, the departure point for an excursion: Cultural Arnhem – Walking Tour.

Arnhem is the capital of the province of Gelderland. It has a rich and eventful past, which is partly reflected in numerous magnificent buildings. The town is probably best known for the battle that was fought there in 1944 and immortalized in the film “A bridge too far”. Today Arnhem is a peaceful, medium-sized city on the banks of the Rhine, surrounded by greenery, with National Park the Veluwe on one side and the lowlands on the other. Among many other impressive sights, the Eusebius Church is a true architectural highlight. This church, with its 93-meter-high tower, has dominated the cityscape of Arnhem for more than five centuries. Enjoy a guided tour through this beautiful city.

The city of Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, is often called ‘Venice of the North’ with a history dating back over 700 years. It is home to countless canals with more than a thousand bridges. Take to the majestic canals with a cruise, highlighting the typical architecture of Amsterdam’s canal houses, mostly originating from the 17th and 18th centuries. Each canal house is different in character through the use of varied colors, shapes, and brickwork. Interestingly, such characteristics were the only means of identification until Napoleon introduced the numbered housing system.
