April 26, 2021 Europe to Allow Vaccinated Americans to Travel to Continent This Summer

On April 25, European Union (EU) officials said they are completing plans to allow American tourists who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 to visit continental Europe this summer.

This comes from a quote in The New York Times from European Union Commission President, Ursula von der Leyen, who noted that  that all coronavirus vaccines used in the U.S. have also been approved by the EU’s regulator, the European Medicines Agency. Also in the works, are advanced talks on making vaccine certificates acceptable proof of immunity to restore trans-Atlantic leisure travel.

Ms. von der Leyen did not offer a timeline as to when the current travel restrictions will be removed, but her comments are encouraging news that plans are in the works to open travel back up between the U.S. and the EU.
